Southern is my third flavor. It was inspired one day when a group of friends were reminiscing about favorite foods. One of them started regaling us about a Jack Daniel’s sauce a restaurant had for a short time and how good it was. I could tell by the blissful look on his face it must have been fantastic. The next thing I knew all my friends were challenging me to create a whisky bacon. I started with a complicated recipe which was good but over several attempts I learned, again, with great ingredients it’s best to keep it simple.
